Islamabad, August 13, 2026. The Embassy of Cuba in Pakistan became the setting for an emotional tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro on his centenary. The evening brought together diplomats from accredited missions, members of the solidarity movement, Pakistani youth, poets, writers, and particularly Cuban women with their families residing in this Asian nation. In an atmosphere filled with brotherhood, attendees joined together to commemorate the life and universal imprint of one of the most monumental figures in contemporary history.During the event, various speakers took the floor to highlight the human, political, and internationalist dimension of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, emphasizing his tireless struggle for social justice and the solidarity. Likewise, the speeches coincided in a resounding and energetic rejection of the indiscriminate and unjust economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba. Those present raised their voices to condemn this siege attempting to suffocate the Cuban people, reaffirming unconditional support for the Island from Pakistani soil.
A particularly emotional moment was the exhibition of artworks created by Cuban and Pakistani children and youth at the closing of the contest "Fidel and His Legacy to the New Generations." Through their creations, the young artists sensitively expressed the values of dignity, solidarity, and shared fraternity—the living teachings passed down by Fidel. Overall, the significant gathering paid a well-deserved tribute to the Commander and left behind a clear and emphatic message: Fidel lives and Cuba is not alone.
It was an activity in which Cubans and Pakistanis agreed that the best way to feel Cuba is to act for her, like never before.
