Athens, January 20: On January 19, Diethnes Vima (International Forum), which has published multiple books on Cuba, organized a discussion on the validity of the Havana Declarations (1960 and 1962) in today's world, in greeting the 61st anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban revolution. Between the presentations and the interesting discussion, the floor was taken by a representative of the publishing house, the ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, the counsellor of the Embassy José Oriol Marrero Martínez, the president of the Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship Nikos Karandreas and Natasha Terlexi of the publishing house and the José Marti Cultural Association. It was started by a representative of the publishing house who said a few words in honor of General Harry Villegas (Pombo in the Che guerrilla), for his death, and briefly commented his book The War in Angola published by the publishing house Diethnes Vima. Speakers then commented on the book that collects both Declarations published by the publishing house Diethnes Vima: the importance and context of both statements and their validity today; the history and current situation of Cuba and Latin America. It was also condemned the unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and US interfering politics in the region. The debate was broad and addressed important theoretical and historical issues and their relationship to the current struggle of peoples against imperialism, in which Cuba has been an example to follow. There was also a photo display of the moments of both Havana statements, which illustrated the atmosphere in Cuba. Participants from different solidarity organizations and political forces once again showed their interest in Cuba and Latin America, as well as their support and permanent friendship to the Cuban people.
