Cuban Ambassador Francisco Fernández held a fraternal exchange with the Honorable Senator Dr. Jerome Walcott, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, prior to the first bilateral meeting to be held shortly by the president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the Honorable Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, during her attendance at the sessions of the UN General Assembly. The meeting served to confirm details of the scheduled meeting of both leaders in New York the following week, in which the priorities of the bilateral agenda will be updated, as well as other aspects related to regional integration and multilateral affairs, including historical support from Barbados to the Cuban struggle for the unconditional lifting of the blockade imposed by the USA.
