Exchange of Cuban Ambassador Yanet Stable Cárdenas with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of of Barbados.

On August 27, Yanet Stable Cárdenas, Ambassador of Cuba in Barbados, held a cordial and fruitful exchange with Mr. Tyronne Brathwaite, Chief Officer in charge of Multilateral Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados. The meeting was also attended by Foreign Ministry officials Sandra Gittens, Head of the Division for Cuba and CARICOM-Caribbean and Disa Lewis, Foreign Service Officer II.  Also present for the Cuban side was Consul Olga Dalmau González.

Ambassador Yanet provided extensive information on the serious effects suffered by the Cuban population as a result of the intensification of the blockade and the inclusion of Cuba on the arbitrary List of Alleged State Sponsors of Terrorism, a hostile and unilateral policy imposed by the U.S. Government on our people.

He once again expressed his appreciation for the Press Release recently issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, urging an urgent end to the Blockade imposed on the Cuban people and the exclusion of Cuba from the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.

They also discussed some issues of bilateral interest related to the collaboration that Cuba offers to Barbados in the field of sports and the scholarships offered by Barbados for young Cubans who will study English in Barbados, among other matters of mutual interest for both countries.
