The Executive Committee of the PNP against the US blockade on Cuba.

Kingston, Jamaica, May 20, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, denounced before the Executive Committee of the People's National Party (PNP) of Jamaica the extraterritorial scope and the negative impact on the Cuban economy of the measures announced by the government of the United States on April 17, as well as the subsequent aggressive escalation unleashed against the largest island of the Antilles under the pretext of Cuba’s alleged interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

The Cuban diplomat, who was invited on May 6 to talk about the position of her country in the face of the growing hostility from the US Government, spoke at a special session of the aforementioned party.

During an exchange that followed the Ambassador's presentation, all members of the Executive Committee of the PNP expressed their unwavering support for the Cuban people, Government and Communist Party in their struggle to put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US Government and condemned the aggressive escalation against Cuba, especially the entry into force of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act and of new measures to tighten the economic siege against the island.

The Ambassador thanked the strong and historic position of the PNP in defense of the Cuban Revolution and its support in the approval by the Jamaican legislative branch, for ten consecutive years, of motions condemning the criminal US blockade against Cuba.
