The development of tourism in Cuba and the interest in continuing cooperation were some of the topics discussed in a meeting organized by executives of the Absheron Hotel Group of Azerbaijan and the Cuban Embassy in this Caucasian nation.
During the exchange, the Island's ambassador in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, highlighted the charms of Cuba and the new projects that are being carried out to strengthen the tourism sphere.
Likewise, the diplomat thanked the cooperation with the group and especially with the hotels: "Intourist" and "Boulevard" during the eighteenth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (Mnoal) held in the capital of Azerbaijan in October 2019.
Meanwhile, the general director of the Boulevard Hotel, Patrick Iserlohe, thanked the presence of the Cuban diplomats and commented on the new transformations made in the emblematic Hotel Boulevard.
Azerbaijan reached record figures in the tourism sector in 2019. The country received 3.2 million visitors, which means a growth of 11.4% compared to 2018.
