Wellington, April 25, 2026.- During the Hīkoi for Peace held in Wellington between Waitangi Park and the Pukeahu War Memorial, expressions of support and solidarity with Cuba were part of a broader advocacy for peace, justice, and international solidarity.
Messages in support of Cuba reflected the longstanding ties of friendship and the commitment of different sectors of New Zealand society to causes, as well as opposition to coercive policies and all forms of interference.
The event brought together activists, social organisations, and citizens committed to promoting peace and dialogue, while also serving as a space to reaffirm shared values of cooperation, respect among peoples, and international solidarity.
