Guyana, August 20, 2019. With the presence of Karen Corbin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Services and Soyinka Grogan, official of the Presidency in charge of Scholarships took place the farewell ceremony of the eight Guyanese students who will study medicine at the Latin-American School of Medicine (ELAM).
The activity that was held at the Cuban Embassy to this Caribbean country, presented a documentary since the creation of this center until our days, a legacy of that great idea of the Commander- in- Chief, Fidel Castro, that this year will turn 20 years of its foundation.
In her remarks, Karen Cobin, pointed out the importance of this project of which Guyana is a pioneer and shows solidarity between the two nations.
The event was also attended by officials of the Embassy, parents of the students, as well as the local press.
