Farewell courtesy call from the Cuban Ambassador to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis highlights relations of brotherhood between both nations.
Basseterre, October 14, 2025. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Economic Development and Investment of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Right Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas, received at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, the Cuban ambassador, David Rivero Pérez, who will soon conclude his diplomatic mission in this Federation.
The meeting, held in a fraternal atmosphere as has become customary, highlighted the solid relations between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Cuba. Both sides recognized the unbreakable ties that unite them, rooted in mutual respect, cooperation and solidarity.
Likewise, the positive trajectory of bilateral relations in the four-year period was highlighted, in which the scope of cooperation in health, education and infrastructure was expanded, taking advantage of historical relationships and shared values, to foster closer ties.
In this connection, the Foreign Minister thanked Cuba for the historical solidarity and cooperation and the contribution of the Ambassador during these years, to strengthening the ties between both countries. The diplomat, for his part, expressed his gratitude for all the support received from the local authorities of the Federation, which has guaranteed the good performance of his management. In addition, he emphasized the recognition to the people and government of Saint Kitts and Nevis for their permanent support in various international scenarios, in which the denunciation of the United States blockade against our country and its inclusion in the list of state sponsors of terrorism has been invariable.
Expressions of wishes for success in the time to come sealed the cordial meeting along with the exchange of tokens as a testimony of the friendship between two sister nations.
