Guyana, September 3rd, 2019. Yesterday, It took place the farewell of 33 Cuban collaborators of the health sector that completed their mission in this country. The Guyanese side was chaired by Volda Lawrence, Minister of Public Health, Dr. KJay Shako, Regional Director of Health, Dr. Verónica Griffin, Interministerial Coordinator of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Abiggail Smith, Principal Assistant to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of health. On the Cuban side, Ricardo Lamas Camejo, Charge d'Affaires a.i. from the Embassy of Cuba and Dr. Tatiana Garcia, Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade.
In her remarks, the Minister had phrases of praise for the work carried out by this group of collaborators who finish their mission, highlighting the professionalism and dedication shown in fulfilling their duties. On the other hand, he thanked the Cuban Government and especially the Ministry of Health of Cuba, for the effort in sustaining the collaboration, highlighting the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The other Guyanese guests who took the floor maintained this same perception of appreciation to the outcome, dedication and professionalism of the Cuban staff.
The Charge d'Affaires a.i. made a brief intervention, thanking the presence of the Minister and her words of recognition of the work of the Cuban medical collaboration and the friendship and solidarity between both nations.
