Copenhagen, August 13, 2022. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, recalled in an act organized by the diplomatic headquarters, the 96th anniversary of the birth of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, in a solidarity meeting that took place today in the revolutionary park of the town of “Christiania” in the Danish capital.
In his speech, he referred to the work of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, his ideals of social justice, and his firmness, and the responsibility of the new generations of Cubans to preserve the legacy of comrade Fidel. The occasion was propitious to address the economic war that the US maintains to destabilize the country, with which they could not prevent the achievements of science and health in Cuba, in times of pandemic, as well as the solidarity practiced with other nations. The diplomat updated those present on the complex scenario created by a large fire in Matanzas and the support received in the face of the event.
The President of the Dano-Cuban Friendship Association, Sven Erick, conveyed his solidarity to Cuba for the disaster at the fuel base, and condemned the US blockade. In turn, he highlighted the validity of the thought of Fidel Castro.
Together with the diplomatic mission, the President of the Communist Party (KP), representatives of the Communist Party in Denmark (KPID), members of the Dano-Cuban Solidarity Association, the Association "Salvador Allende", and “Patria Grande” Movement, and participants of Cuban residents with their descendants. Different inhabitants of the community also joined.
In this park, we also remember today the birthday of Comandante Tomás Borge, founder of the FSLN.
