Manila, April 12- The cultural and friendship association with Cuba, PHILCUBA, sponsored the launch of a book entitled "Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution" that reflects the reflections of Dr Francisco Nemenzo, former rector of the University of the Philippines and president of PHILCUBA and Mamiel Lurinaria, member of that organization on the Cuban revolutionary process and its significance in the struggles for justice of the progressive forces of the world.
The lawyer Corazon Fabros, who was in charge of the presentation, expressed the need of the revolutionaries to revisit again and again the foundations of the revolution built in Cuba and the obligation to continue supporting the fight against the blockade waged by Cuba, for being the only country in the world that has been consistent in its fight against imperialism.
The Cuban ambassador in that country, Ibete Fernandez Hernandez, thanked and highlighted the initiative to honor with the edition of the book, the Commander in Chief and his thought that has contributed to the emancipation of other peoples struggling to achieve social justice.
The Manila declaration was included in the book, which was approved by the delegates who participated last year in the 8th solidarity meeting with Cuba in Asia, calling on the United States to lift the blockade and return the territory illegally occupied by the Naval Guantanamo Base.
In the event, which took place at the University of the Philippines, students, professors and members of friendship associations with Cuba participated.
