Representatives of civil society organizations, with the support of regional and international organizations based in Cuba, of social actors and organizations, religious, fraternal and national institutions, gathered for the 14th Forum of Civil Society Organizations against the Blockade, have agreed:
1. To condemn unequivocally the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States of America against the Cuban people.
2. To reaffirm the right to self-determination of the Cuban people in building their own political, economic and social system in an independent, sovereign and peaceful manner, without external interference and rejecting all sorts of threats and coercion.
3. To reiterate the demand against the Government of the United States of America for the continued blockade that remains in force and has caused significant human and economic damages to the Cuban people, which have been quantified according to conservative calculations in more than 130 thousand 178.6 million dollars at current prices, in the nearly 60 years of its implementation.
4. To support the position of the Cuban government that the blockade should be lifted by the United States government unilaterally and unconditionally, respecting the rules of international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
5. To emphasize that the blockade qualifies as an act of genocide and constitutes a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of the Cuban people, American citizens and third countries, and has been exacerbated by the new measures announced by the United States government.
6. To urge President Donald Trump to listen to the demands of most American citizens, Cubans residing in the United States and his own political party who support the lifting of the blockade and the normalization of relations with Cuba. Likewise, we reiterate our call for the United States Congress to pass a law that would enable the lifting of the blockade.
7. To express once again that the blockade is a substantial limitation on the right to development of the Cuban people, which generates shortages and suffering to Cuban families with a sensitive humanitarian impact, and hinders access to drugs, medical equipment, technologies and state-of-the-art therapeutic treatments that help to relieve and cure many diseases. The blockade further hinders the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
8. To demand the halt of the persecution of Cuban international economic and financial relations with entities established in third countries, which shows the extraterritorial scope of the policy of blockade.
9. To urge American citizens and our counterpart organizations in the United States to maintain their support for the Cuban people in order to end this obsolete, hostile and unjust policy, that has an impact on the normal development of relations between our peoples.
10.To recognize the role of non-governmental organizations of the United States in demonstrating the social and economic damages of the blockade, as well as the role of solidarity that has always accompanied us from all regions of the world.
11.To support the presentation to the United Nations General Assembly of the draft resolution "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba" and to call for the international community to support this noble cause.
