The First Caribbean Conference for Peace dedicated to Fidel and Che Guevara.

Barbados, October 7. The various pacifist organizations that convened the First Caribbean Conference for Peace, held on October 6 and 7, decided to dedicate to the commanders Ernesto "Che" Guevara and Fidel Castro Ruz, the excellent results obtained in the conclave, for consider them "two world visionary leaders who made an extraordinary contribution to the peace and liberation of the peoples of Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean," as reflected in the Bridgetown Declaration.


In the first paragraph of its resolution, the Declaration adopted by the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration (CMPI), the Jamaica Peace Council (JPC), the Guyana Peace Council (GPC), the Movement (MovPaz) in its dual capacity as regional coordinator of the World Peace Council (CMP), and the United States Peace Council. invited to the event, accompanied by the different organizations and personalities of the Network in Defense of Humanity - Caribbean Chapter (NIDOH-C), highlighted the relevance of the historical context in which the Conference was held, coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the fall in combat of the Ché in Bolivia and the near commemoration of the first anniversary of the death of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution next 25 of November.


Also in another paragraph of the document highlights the commemoration in Barbados of the 41 Anniversary of the terrorist sabotage to the flight of Cubana de Aviación on October 6, 1976, as an act of solidarity with the Cuban people and the families of the victims of the three affected countries - Cuba, Guyana and North Korea - and condemning all forms of terrorism.


In this regard, all the delegates attending the Conference accompanied the Foreign Minister of Barbados and the Ambassador of Cuba at the ceremony of remembrance of the terrorist attack organized between the two governments at the end of the first day of sessions, participating with speeches and the placement of floral offerings at the monument erected for victims in the capital city of Paynes Bay, St James, which was inaugurated by the Commander-in-Chief in 1998.
