First meeting of Cuban residents held in the Egyptian city of Hurghada

Hurghada, May 27, 2025. The first meeting of Cuban residents in the Egyptian city of Hurghada was held this morning, with the participation of a representation of the Cuban community.

In the meeting held by the Ambassador, Alexander Pellicer, and the First Secretary, Odalys Capote, they exchanged on several topics of interest from the consular point of view, particularly on the services offered by the Embassy to its nationals and the migratory rules and regulations established by the Egyptian authorities.

During the pleasant meeting, the Cubans expressed their doubts and concerns on migratory issues, and thanked the Embassy for its initiative which gave them the possibility to exchange directly with the diplomatic representatives of the Greater of the Antilles.

In recent years, the Cuban community in Egypt has grown considerably, mostly nationals linked to the culture and entertainment sector who work in several of the hotels that today make up this important Egyptian tourist center located on the shores of the Red Sea about 450 kilometers from Cairo.
