Abuja, February 17, 2024.- The first Meeting of Cubans Resident in the Federal Republic of Nigeria took place as part of the exchange processes derived from the IV Conference “The Nation and Emigration” held on November 18 and 19 in Havana, Cuba.
The main topics addressed were the explanation of the new consular measures adopted as of July 1, 2023 and a summary of the main approaches reflected by the participants of the IV Conference “The Nation and Emigration.”
The moment was also favorable to deliver the citizenship documents to the youngest member of our community, the son of two Cuban doctors born in Nigeria.
On the other hand, a debate took place in which doubts were clarified, concerns were collected and problems that hinder the good flow of relations between Cubans residing on the Island and those residing abroad were addressed.
The debate was chaired by Ambassador Miriam Morales Palmero, Third Secretary Ana Flavia Gómez Pavot and the official in charge of Consular Affairs Rodrigo Hadad.
