First theoretical seminar, milestone in Cuba-Laos interparty ties

Vientiane, 29 de abril, 2023.The member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales, defined the first theoretical seminar held as a milestone in the inter-party relations of Cuba and Laos.

The exchanges represented an important scenario to socialize experiences and knowledge about the construction of socialism, Morales stressed at the opening of the forum, noting that "advancing in this aspiration requires enriching the ideological and practical legacy, particularly the contributions of (Carlos) Marx, (Vladimir) Lenin and our national heroes”.

In the case of Cuba, he expressed, his paradigm finds its most complete synthesis in the National Hero José Martí and the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, in the teachings of Army General Raúl Castro and in the leadership of the first secretary of the Committee Central of the PCC, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

After praising the excellent organization of the meeting, Comrade Morales pointed out that the three issues that were addressed were a cornerstone in the debates of the VIII Congress and constitute work priorities of the Communist Party of Cuba.

These themes were reflected in the ideas, concepts, guidelines and agreements, which address, among other aspects, those related to the economic-social strategy, cadre policy and ideological work, with emphasis on young people.

He recalled that the Antillean nation undertook in the VI Congress of the PCC the process of updating the Cuban socialist development model, which was expanded and enriched in the two subsequent party meetings.

This commitment, he said, "implies challenges that demand the adequate articulation of the organizational, legal-regulatory and political-ideological components", and its fulfillment requires the support of science, innovation, constant experimentation and adjustments "in the interest of achieving the greatest possible social justice, the essence of our project for the country”.

Morales underlined the perverse nature of the strategy led by the United States government against Cuba, in its attempt to overthrow the Revolution through the longest and most genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade, intensified in recent years in an unprecedented way.

He pointed out that in view of this reality it is "an imperative for Cuba to develop its economy, diversify it and connect to the international economy, in turn creating a greater quantity of goods and services."

The Secretary of Organization of the PCC highlighted the decisive role that corresponds to the cadres in the complex tasks for the construction of the new society, for which reason their selection and training are a strategic task to ensure the present and the continuity of the political system.

For his part, the member of the Political Bureau and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (PPRL), Bounthong Chitmany, pointed out that this organization has overcome an environment full of challenges in 68 years to consolidate and elevate its leading role in society, with strict adherence to the socialist ideology.

He also pointed out the special attention paid to reinforcing political-ideological education to counteract enemy campaigns by the PPRL, which must be, he said, a master at clarifying, explaining, and responding to slanderous propaganda, misrepresentation, deceit, and the lies of the adversary.
