Floral Tributes Placed before the Bust of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Havana

In a long-standing tradition of friendship and respect, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Cuba laid floral tributes before the bust of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Founder of the modern Turkish Republic.

The ceremony, held at ICAP headquarters, was attended by Fernando González Llort, President of ICAP; Aytaç Yılmaz, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Cuba; members of the diplomatic mission; Turkish citizens residing in Cuba; and Cuban friends and collaborators.

The Honorary Chair of History and Culture of Türkiye at the University of Havana once again joined this patriotic and fraternal act, symbolizing the enduring bonds of friendship, respect, and cooperation between both nations.

During the ceremony, speakers highlighted the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as an inspiring figure whose values of sovereignty, independence, and modernity resonate deeply with the Cuban people. These shared ideals continue to strengthen the mutual commitment of Cuba and Türkiye to peace and the self-determination of peoples.

The event reaffirmed the determination to further deepen the historical, cultural, and solidarity ties between the two nations.
