Sri Lanka, December 4, 2020.- The Honorable Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of International Relations of Sri Lanka, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez. During the meeting, both parties highlighted the historical relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, as well as reiterated their willingness to continue working to strengthen them.
They also exchanged on various topics of bilateral interest, including the experiences of both countries in the fight against COVID - 19, as well as the Minister was interested in the Cuban vaccine against the virus and highlighted the development achieved by our country in the scientific - technical field, in particular biotechnology, despite the limitations imposed on our country by the blockade policy imposed by the United States government against Cuba. He expressed his rejection of this policy.
The meeting took place in a friendly and fraternal atmosphere.
