Former Jamaican Prime Minister reaffirms his solidarity with Cuba.

Kingston, 5 March 2026. Former Jamaican Prime Minister and great friend of Cuba, the Most Honourable PJ Patterson, received the Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Tania López Larroque, at the headquarters of the Institute for the Promotion of Africa and the Caribbean at the University of the West Indies (UWI).

The Cuban diplomat provided an update on current events in Cuba and the impact of the United States' intensified genocidal blockade policy against the island. She also thanked the former leader for his historic support of the Cuban Revolution and his love for Cuba.

For his part, Patterson recalled the friendship that united him with Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and the Cuban people, while reiterating his ongoing solidarity with our country and his firm determination to continue demanding the elimination of the blockade.
