Former Prime Minister of Granada receives the Ambassador of Cuba

St George, February 5. The honorable Keith Mitchell, former Prime Minister of Grenada and current leader of the opposition, received the Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez on Monday morning. At the headquarters of the New National Party, known as the Green House, the hosts held a meeting full of the good memories that unite Keith Mitchell and the people of Granada in their relationship with Cuba. The diplomat congratulated the leader of the NNP and its militants on behalf of the Cuban government and people on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and said she felt fortunate to participate in the great celebration.

The honorable Keith Mitchell reiterated his willingness to maintain partisan and friendly relations with Cuba, as during his terms as Prime Minister between 1995-2008 and 2013-2022. Mitchell visited Cuba on several occasions and had the privilege, as he said, of receiving Commander in Chief Fidel Castro on an official visit to Grenada in August 1998.
