Kingston, Jamaica, 2 January 2021. On the occasion of the 62nd Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, former Prime Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson-Miller, posted some emotional words on her Facebook profile, which are reproduced below:
Today Marks the 62nd Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
We must never forget the important role that the Government and People of Cuba play in humanitarian and other causes around the world. Their medical professionals are always on hand to help and care for people in almost every humanitarian and health crisis. Today with COVID 19, they are at the forefront of fighting this pandemic.
We must never forget the kindnesss and support to Jamaica from the Government and People of Cuba. They have always stood with us. We must stand with them and continue to call for the Blockade which causes extreme economic hardships on the people of Cuba to be lifted.
Viva Cuba!
Thenk yuh, sista P (Thank you, sister Portia). The respect, admiration and love between the peoples of Cuba and Jamaica are reciprocal. Nothing and no one can ever destroy them.
