Foundation of Humanitarian Aid for the Antilles (FAHA) organizes visit of the Ambassador of Cuba to their base in the City of Raalte

The Hague, 28 May 2018. The delegation of the Embassy of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, integrated by the Ambassador of Cuba H.E. Mrs Soraya Alvarez Núñez and the Third Secretary Miss Katia Aruca Chaple visited the main office of the Foundation for Humanitaria Aid to the Antilles (FAHA) in the City of Raalte.

 

In the morning of May 24, second and last day of the program, the delegation and the directives of FAHA visited the municipal library where they exchanges with its workers. The delegation learned about tyhe multiple programs offered to the community, in which they prepare activities specifically created for children, elderly people and handicapped people.

 

The delegation also visited a modern company of full cycle graphic printing,  Veldhuis Media Group. Oscar Jager, its director, and other members of the board explained the characteristics of the technological process, the high level of  competitiveness in this activity and the different finished products they commercialized.

 

Another part of the program was the visit to the Plaskerk church, national monument, located in the center of the City of Raalte and currently undergoing an extensive reastoration process. There, the delegation spoke with the expert in charge of this process that uses state-of-the art technology to rescue some icons on their walls and the dome  with over 900 years of existence.

 

When saying goodbye, the Ambassador reiterated her gratitude to the members of the Foundation for the excellent program and for all the shows of love towards Cuba. She also stressed the will to continue consolidating the relationships of friendship and solidarity with the Foundation.
