Friends and fellow nationals in Norway commemorated the 71st anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks

Oslo, August 6, 2024. On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the Association of Friendship with Cuba in Norway called for a demonstration on July 26th, in the Eidsvolls square, located right in front of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting).

The persistent rain could not prevent about twenty friends from meeting at the place to commemorate that transcendental event in the history of our country, carrying Cuban and July 26 flags.

The occasion was suitable to demand the lifting of the blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years, as well as the removal of Cuba from the spurious list of States allegedly sponsoring terrorism.

“Cuba promotes peace, life, health; not terrorism” said the giant banner that presided over the rally, during which several speakers took the floor, including Cihan Karakoc, president of the Friendship Association; Ane Hoel, member of its board; Paulius Eidukas, leader of the Communist Party of Norway in Oslo, and Bárbaro Maikel Mendoza, Cuban resident in this country.
