Declaration of Solidarity with Cuba
Vientiane, May, 2024. Friends of Cuba in Lao PDR, expressed their support to the Island trougth the following declaration, highly appreciated by the Cuban people:
"Within the wave of international solidarity with the Cuban people after the Minrex declaration of May 15, 2024 against the arrogant policy of aggression and interference of the United States, the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association, the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity and the group of Laotian graduates in Cuba as well as the entire Laotian people are firmly committed to ratify and reiterate once again, their consistent position of principles of condemnation and rejection of this illegal, immoral and inhumane policy.
The United States does not have any legitimacy or authority to accuse a small but worthy country that has sent medical brigades since 1963 to save human life in more than 160 countries around the world. The United States has no right to include Cuba, a sovereign country that has suffered and been a victim of the criminal policy of blockade and terrorist sabotage for more than 6 decades, on the infamous and illegal list of State sponsors of terrorism.
Today and forever we continue in all possible and appropriate spaces to demand and urgently call on the US administration to put an unconditional end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba that has been forcefully condemned in consecutive sessions of the UNGA since 1992, and immediately remove Cuba from the supposed unilateral list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
We, together with the political, social and religious organizations that love peace and justice in all parts of the world, want our Cuban brothers to live like other peoples, in a country free of coercive measures against their independence and national sovereignty!
