Fruitful Cooperation Meeting on Industrial Property Between Cuba and Venezuela

Geneva, November 14, 2025. Within the framework of the Roundtable on South-South Cooperation in Intellectual Property, held at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a cordial and productive meeting took place between representatives of the national industrial property offices of Cuba and Venezuela.

The meeting was led by Angie Alexandra Amaro Tovar, Director of Patents, Trademarks, and Other Distinctive Signs of the Autonomous Service of Intellectual Property of Venezuela (SAPI) of the Ministry of People’s Power for National Commerce, and Lyan Marsans Castellanos, Head of the Department of Legal Advisory and International Relations of the Cuban Office of Industrial Property (OCPI).

During the exchange, both delegates reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening cooperation ties between their institutions, with emphasis on areas of mutual interest and on promoting joint initiatives that contribute to the development of national industrial property systems.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of fraternity and commitment, highlighting the importance of collaboration among countries of the Global South to advance the strategic use of intellectual property as a driver of development.
