Kingston, Jamaica, 5 November 2020. Yesterday, Wednesday, Antonio Luis Carricarte Corona and Lloyd Distant, presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Cuba and Jamaica, respectively, held a virtual meeting to explore the possibilities of expanding bilateral trade of goods and services and investments.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica and her counterpart in Cuba, they agreed on the existing potential to expand commercial and business relationships in sectors such as health, agricultural equipment and tools, and construction. On the Cuban side, companies like the Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos SA, the Centre for Immunoassay, BK Import and UNECA, took the opportunity to briefly present their portfolios of goods and services to the Jamaican Chamber of Commerce and Jamaican companies invited to the videoconference.
This has been the first of a group of virtual meetings scheduled to be held by Cuban and Jamaican companies, in order to promote bilateral trade and investment between both Caribbean nations.
