Fruitful visit to Cuba by Executive Director of Zimbabwe's African Knowledge Institute

Havana, June 11, 2025 – The Director of Zimbabwe's African Knowledge Institute, Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, completed a fruitful visit to Cuba seeking to strengthen bilateral ties in the field of culture, particularly heritage management.

Muzawazi met with Deputy Minister of Culture Lizette Martínez Luzardo and signed a memorandum of understanding with the President of the National Heritage Council, Sonia Virgen Pérez Mojena.

Accompanied by Brigadier General Million Ndlovu and other Zimbabwean representatives, Muzawazi visited the headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and exchanged views with its president, Fernando González Llort, and Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, both Heroes of the Republic.

The Director of the African Liberation Museum also held meetings with various organizations to continue the Caribbean nation's contributions to the project being built in Harare to showcase the continent's struggle for independence, with a space dedicated to recognizing Cuba's role in the fight .
