Further cooperation with the National Anti-Narcotics Agency of Indonesia

Jakarta, May 18.- Officials from the Embassy of Cuba in Indonesia hold a working meeting with the Head of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency of Indonesia, Dr. Petrus Reinhard Golose, with the purpose of supporting the dialogue, exchange of experiences and to expand the cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Head of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency of the asian nation said that the war on drugs requires strong cooperation at the national, regional and international levels, for which the aforementioned institution has a program for the prevention and eradication of the abuse and the illicit narcotics trafficking, in which one of its strategies is the cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. In this sense, he recognized the excellent performance of Cuba in this matter.

For her part, the Ambassador of Cuba in Indonesia, Ms. Tania Velázquez López, appreciated for taking Cuba into account to work together with Indonesia in a more advanced direction on this issue, while explaining the zero tolerance policy of the Greater Antilles, in terms of drug trafficking and consumption.

Likewise, she conveyed the willingness of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Jakarta to work together with the the National Anti-Narcotics Agency of Indonesia, with the purpose of increasing bilateral cooperation in this matter, as well as for the coordination of a working visit to the island, which will allow to increase the exchange of information and experiences with Cuban specialists in this field.
