General Secretary of the Greek Chancellery receives Cuban ambassador

Athens, 25 November 2019. The Secretary-General of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs Temistocles Demiris, received at his headquarters the ambassador of Cuba to the Hellenic country Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina.
Historical ties between the Cuban and Greek peoples were discussed, as well as issues of mutual interest to promote bilateral relations and promote existing and ongoing agreements in various areas, such as the Memorandum of Understanding for Political Consultations inter chancelleries.
The ambassador thanked the Greek government's vote on the Cuban resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba at the recent session of the United Nations General Assembly and explained on the characteristics and impacts of the blockade to the island.
The good level of relations between the two countries and the potential to energize mutually interesting actions were found.
