In Geneva, Cuban Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment Meets with Norwegian Minister of Climate and Environment

Oslo, August 14, 2025. In the framework of his participation in the negotiations for a legally binding international instrument on plastic pollution, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, the Cuban Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment Rudy Montero Mata had the opportunity to exchange with Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, Norway´s Minister of Climate and Environment.

Both agreed on the importance of moving toward a treaty that effectively addresses the phenomenon of plastic pollution.

They also exchanged views on possible actions to strengthen bilateral cooperation on climate change and environment, and reviewed some of the issues that will be discussed at the COP30 next November. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
