The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis González Despaigne, was received by the Minister for Inner-City and Zongo Development, Alhaji Abu-bakar Saddique Boniface.
The Minister, who had requested the meeting with the Ambassador, explained the purposes laid out by this new Ministry aimed at supporting the integral improvement of the life and professional conditions of Zongo community, which is characterized because mostly all of them profess islam.
The Minister recounted what he appreciated in Cuba during his visits in the years 2003 and 2004, and said to be considering request Cuba's cooperation in education, sports, health, infrastructure, culture and security and crime control; as well as making another visit to the Caribbean island in the course of the year.
The Cuban diplomat expressed the willingness of Cuba to support the objectives of the Ghanaian Ministry according to the possibilities and conditions of his country.
