Ghana and Cuba ratify international law as the basis for relations between States

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Mohammad Habibu Tijani, received at the Ministry headquarters the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.

The Deputy Minister highlighted the historic relationship between Ghana and Cuba, and recalled the work carried out by Cuban health collaborators in his country, and especially in Yendi, his hometown.

During the meeting, issues of bilateral interest were addressed and the current world situation was balanced, reaffirming international law as the mechanism of respectful relationship between States and the rejection of the use of force in the international sphere.

It was emphasized by the parties that in the current year bilateral relations will be six decades old, an event worthy of being honored.

On the Ghanaian side were Mrs. Florence Akonor and Ms. Betty Danso, Assistant Director and Assistant Deputy Director of the Americas Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Felix Nyanku, personal assistant to the Deputy Minister. The Cuban Ambassador was accompanied by the First Secretary of the Embassy, ​​Julio César Sánchez Martínez.
