Ghana commemorates Fidel's 94th birthday

The staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Ghana, led by the Ambassador, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, participated in the Virtual Forum organized by the Africa and the Middle East Division of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), on the occasion of the 94th birthday of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro; the event also featured the participation of a representation of Ghanaian graduates in Cuba.

The main speakers at the Forum were professionals from Africa and the Middle East, who benefited from the youth training program, whose main promoter was Commander in Chief Fidel. The representative of Ghanaian graduates in Cuba, Dr. Hafez Adam Taher, highlighted what the figure of Fidel represented for them, ratified the solidarity of the people of Ghana with Cuba, and their gratitude for the work of Cuban doctors. He reiterated on behalf of the Ghanaians who were trained in Cuba, the rejection of the economic blockade suffered by the Cuban people for more than six decades, and his support for the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Internationalist Contingent "Henry Reeve".

At the conclusion of the Forum, the staff of the Embassy of Cuba held a conversation on the life and work of Fidel, in which core aspects of his career were addressed, such as: his commitment to the Cuban people; the exercise of personal example; the practice of internationalism; the consecration to the Revolution; the ability to foresee the future. Reference was also made to the Commander-in-Chief's ties to Africa, and to Ghana in particular. (Embacuba Ghana)
