The Bahamas, 18 November 2018. On the occasion of the 2018 “Women of Distinction” presentation at the Bahamas Government House, the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara M. Vargas Walter, exchanged with The Most Honourable Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor-General of the aforesaid Caribbean nation. The event featured Trio de Ciudad, a Cuban three-piece ensemble consistent of two young violinists and a pianist who delighted the attendees with an exquisite classical music selection.
The Governor-General praised the artistic quality of the Cuban musicians and pointed out the high level reached by the Cuban music in general. She also expressed gratitude for the readiness of Cuba to sharing its talents with other sister nations. The Cuban Ambassador reiterated Cuba’s willingness to further promote music programs between the two nations.
For decades, Cuba and The Bahamas have developed a dynamic cultural exchange inclusive of all art manifestations.
