The Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gül, paid a working visit to the Consulate General of Cuba in Istanbul, where he was received by the Consul General, Raúl Ernesto Madrigal Cárdenas, in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.
During the meeting, both authorities addressed issues related to institutional cooperation between the Governor's Office and the Consulate, with special emphasis on ensuring the smooth functioning of the Cuban consular mission in serving the Cuban community residing in Turkey, as well as Cuban nationals in transit through the country.
The Consul General expressed his gratitude for the continued support of local authorities and stressed the importance of strengthening communication channels to ensure efficient, safe, and respectful assistance to Cuban citizens.
Governor Davut Gül reaffirmed the commitment of Turkish institutions to diplomatic and consular cooperation and positively valued the historical ties of friendship between Cuba and Turkey.
This meeting confirms the shared desire to deepen cooperation for the benefit of Cuban nationals and to continue promoting relations based on respect, solidarity, and institutional collaboration.
Consuls Lisvan Aleaga Tamayo and Amelia Fernández Frade also participated in the meeting.
