Graduation of Cuban Representatives from Dubai Government Leadership Programmes Reinforces Bilateral Cooperation

A group of Cuban representatives from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC), the Ministry of Education (MINED), and the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Abu Dhabi successfully completed two International Government Leadership Programmes organized in 2025 by the Government Experience Exchange Office (GEEO) of the Government of Dubai. The graduation ceremony was held on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2026, bringing together 377 graduates from 45 countries.

The ceremony was presided over by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, who underscored the importance that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attaches to these programmes as a global platform for government-to-government cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the development of leadership capabilities, innovation, and excellence in public sector management. The event was also attended by Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit.

Cuban participation in the "Latin America and the Caribbean Leadership Programme" and the "International Education Leadership Programme", both delivered under the GEEO framework, reaffirms the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in institutional development, strategic planning, digital transformation, and public policy design, as well as the mutual interest in expanding structured knowledge exchange between the two countries.

Emirati authorities expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes achieved by all graduates and reiterated their commitment to continuing the promotion of global capacity-building initiatives led by the GEEO, aimed at modernizing government institutions worldwide through innovative, agile, and sustainable governance models.
