Graduation for Kenyan health professionals who studied in Cuba

Kenya, May 5, 2022- The Cuban mission in Nairobi had the honour of taking part in the graduation ceremony for 47 Kenyan health professionals who studied in Cuba in the speciality of Comprehensive General Medicine, the first of its kind abroad.

The graduation ceremony, presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Senator Mutahi Kagwe, was a special evening, where every face and speech irradiated love and gratitude towards Cuba, in recognition of its robust health system, and especially the warmth and familiarity of its doctors to patients in their treatment.

Also present at the ceremony were authorities from the Kenyan Ministry of Health, the Medical Association, the Council of Governors and especially the former Kenyan ambassador to Cuba, Anthony Muchiri; as well as professors from the University of Medical Sciences in Havana who acted as a tribunal in the graduation exercise of the Kenyan doctors.

The solidarity of the Cuban people has left very special traces in Africa, as our Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz often recalled; cultural and historical links that are also strengthened through diplomacy and the promotion of cooperative relations.
