Athens. A meeting was held at the Cuban embassy in Greece, between Ambassador Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, Nikos Theodorakis, son of the prestigious Greek musician and revolutionary Mikis Theodorakis, recently deceased, and Velisarios Kossivakis, coordinator of the Greek initiative to apply for the Nobel Prize to the Henry Reeve contingent of Cuban doctors.
Nikos Theodorakis delivered a copy of a painting with the record of Mikis Theodorakis's work and the interrelation between the different pieces, made by Mikis himself.
The ambassador thanked and explained, at the request of the visitors, the situation in Cuba, the strengthening of the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, the confrontation with the pandemic, the development of Cuban vaccines and other topics of interest.
The friend Theodorakis reaffirmed the support of him and his family to Cuba, his participation and that of his father in the honor committee of the initiative for the Nobel to Cuban doctors, and his willingness to strengthen the cultural ties between Cuba and Greece, for which he delivered an official letter with several interesting proposals that will be analyzed by the Cuban authorities. Theodorakis requested that "all activities have as a fundamental demand the end of the blockade, imposed on the Cuban people by the imperialist forces."
It was one more example of the friendship of the Greek and Cuban peoples, and of the great legacy of the immortal Mikis Theodorakis.
