Greece Commemorates 57th Anniversary of Che Guevara's Fall in Bolivia

Last night, the 57th anniversary of the fall of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara in Bolivia was commemorated in Athens. Once again, the Studio Room of the New Star Cinema in Athens welcomed a large audience, which on this occasion was also motivated by the launch of the book “Ernesto Che Guevara - Family Album”.
The book, presented at noon with the participation of dozens of journalists and others interested in the subject, was commented with emotional and moving words by Dr. Aleida Guevara March, who also with family anecdotes, highlighted the tenderness and love that characterized her home during the life of her beloved father. Several speakers, including Semina Digeni, journalist and author who wrote the prologue for this edition, Nikos Karandreas, president of the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity, and the poet Babis Zafiros, spoke about this valuable initiative, the content of the Album and the importance of making the work of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara widely known.
Also speaking were Velissarios Kossivakis, who is recognized for developing this initiative, and the Cuban ambassador to Greece, Aramís Fuente Hernández, who said: “I think it is of great value and very symbolic that, on this occasion, while the Cuban Culture Day is taking place in Cuba, the project for the publication of Che's written work is being made known, and the book “Ernesto Che Guevara - Family Album” is being launched, which also has a very high cultural value.”
To conclude the activity, a musical cultural program was held with choirs, musical groups with harp, guitar and piano where well-known songs allegorical to the event were performed.
