Athens, 22 July. The Hellenic Cuban Friendship Association organized an important event in the municipality of Elefsina, on the eve of the commemoration of July 26, the day of Cuban national rebellion. The solidarity event condemned the unjust US economic, commercial and financial blockade on Cuba and supported Cuban medical collaboration around the world.
At the event took the floor, Adonis Alexandropoulos, member of the association, who explained the importance of Cuba's date and solidarity, as well as the initiative to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Cuban doctors; Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, Cuba's ambassador to Greece who details the work of medical brigades, working conditions and other details of its humanist and voluntary work, as well as the difficulties caused by the unjust US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and Nikos Karandreas, president of the association that explained Cuba's situation before the revolution , the importance of the assault on the Moncada Barracks, the program that derived from it, the measures, the history and development of the revolution, its achievements, Cuban solidarity in the world, the blockade and other aspects of great interest.
In the end a Greek musical group performed patriotic songs, including Che Guevara composed by a Greek author and the well-known Until Always Commander.
Elefsina's Deputy Mayor Liaskos Dimitrios; the MeP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Lefteris Nikolaos, and other members of the KKE Central Committee, as well as KKE militants, and representatives of various political forces and friends of solidarity in general were present. It was one more example of the Greek people's friendship over Cuba.
