On the occasion of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) sends a warm revolutionary greeting to the Communists and the working class of Cuba and wishes your congress good luck. We express our solidarity with the heroic Cuban people, we condemn the imperialist aggression and we demand the lifting of the barbaric blockade and all the measures imposed by the United States against Cuba.
Its Congress coincides with the 60th anniversary of the defeat of the US military intervention and its mercenaries in Playa Girón, but also with the 60th anniversary of the declaration of the socialist character of the revolution.
The Cuban revolution gave the working class and the people of Cuba unprecedented conquests. In our country and internationally, these conquests inspire a broad movement of solidarity with the island of the revolution against the imperialist blockade and all kinds of sabotage and interventions.
The proven superiority of socialism takes on special importance at a time when a new capitalist crisis has erupted, deepening by the pandemic and intensifying imperialist rivalries.
During the pandemic, Cuba, thanks to the popular health system, resisted the pandemic, made great progress in vaccines and medicines for the needs of its people and other peoples, at a time when even in powerful capitalist states the health systems collapsed. marketed health.
Our Party supports the claim of the Nobel Peace Prize to the "Henry Reeve" brigade, which has demonstrated in practice the internationalist solidarity of Cuba with the suffering peoples.
Today, millions of workers around the world realize that there is no way out in the framework of the capitalist mode of production, the domination of monopolies and the capitalist market.
The relevance of socialism, the need for the power of the working class, the socialization of the means of production, centralized planning, and workers' control are highlighted.
The events place serious responsibilities on the communist movement. They highlight the need for a political-ideological counterattack on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism.
