A music concert was recently held at the Trade Center in Saint George as part of the ongoing solidarity campaign with Cuba currently taking place in Grenada. The event aimed to raise funds to support the Island amid the complex situation it is facing.
The proceeds collected, both from concert tickets and associated food sales, will be sent to Cuba, which is enduring a difficult juncture as a result of the accumulated effects of more than six decades of blockade and the tightening of coercive measures, including the energy siege imposed since January 2026.
The stage brought together prominent Grenadian artists, who delivered high‑quality performances, alongside amateur artists who also joined the initiative. Several of the latter are part of the group of Grenadians who pursued higher education in Cuba.
The concert became a space for reaffirming the friendship between Cuba and Grenada, where music and culture served as a bridge to strengthen solidarity. The evening made clear that art can be a powerful tool to mobilize consciences and support just causes, such as the defense of the sovereignty and dignity of the Cuban people.
