Grenadian media highlight Solidarity Campaign with Cuba

The press in Grenada has given wide coverage to the solidarity campaign with Cuba promoted by the group Citizens for Cuba (CRC), under the slogan “Grateful Granada gives back to Cuba.” The initiative will take place between April 14 and May 14, 2026, coinciding with the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

News reports indicate that the campaign seeks to raise funds and mobilize medical, energy, and food resources to support the Cuban people amid current difficulties. Collections in churches, union activities, concerts, and community actions across the national territory have been planned, with the aim of giving every citizen the opportunity to contribute.

Granadian outlets such as The New Today have emphasized the active participation of religious organizations, unions, entrepreneurs, farmers, fishermen, and artists, who have joined CRC’s call. Coverage underscores that the campaign is inclusive and nationwide in character, reflecting the will of Grenadian society to stand with Cuba in times of hardship.

Media dissemination also points out that Cuba’s difficulties stem from the prolonged economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States. This policy, sustained for more than six decades, has restricted access to essential resources and remains the main obstacle to the country’s development—reinforcing the importance of international solidarity in this context.
