Grenadian media support solidarity campaign with Cuba

Medios granadinos respaldan campaña solidaria con Cuba

Grenadian media have given wide coverage to the campaign “Grateful Grenada Gives Back to Cuba”, an initiative aimed at raising funds and mobilizing resources to support the Island amid the shortages caused by the economic blockade. In this regard, the newspaper The New Today dedicated prominent space to reporting on the solidarity activities.

The media have emphasized that the initiative not only responds to immediate needs, but also reaffirms the historic friendship between both peoples and the will to sustain regional cooperation. They have highlighted the commitment of trade unions, churches, and civil society organizations.

Among the activities reported are concerts, community events, and fundraising actions designed to involve citizens in supporting Cuba. Grenadian press outlets have stressed that these initiatives carry a strong political and social component, as they make visible Caribbean solidarity in the face of the difficulties the Island endures due to the economic and energy siege.

In particular, The New Today has published statements from representatives of the group Citizens for Cuba, such as Dr. Sonia Nixon, Dr. Malachy Dottin, and lawyer Ruggles Ferguson K.C. They explained the objectives of the campaign and called for unity around the Cuban cause.
