Grenada’s Minister for Economic Development, Planning, Agriculture and Lands, Forestry, Blue Economy, Marine Resources, and Cooperatives, Honorable Lennox Andrews, recently received Cuba’s Ambassador to that country, Yadirys Echenique Paz. During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the areas under his leadership.
The exchange acknowledged Cuba’s contribution to the training of technicians and specialists linked to agricultural production, as well as the willingness of the Greater Antilles to share experiences in the development of cooperatives and in the sustainable management of natural resources. The Ambassador reaffirmed her country’s commitment to continue collaborating in technical assistance and training programs in these strategic sectors.
For his part, Minister Lennox Andrews expressed his gratitude for Cuba’s solidarity. He stressed that cooperation in these fields constitutes a fundamental pillar in the relations between both countries. At the same time, he expressed his solidarity with the Cuban people, victims of the hostility of the U.S. government.
This year marks the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Grenada, ties that have been characterized by collaboration in health, education, culture, and infrastructure. Over the decades, both countries have consolidated a relationship of friendship and cooperation that remains strong and in constant development.
