Grenadian parliamentarian Peter David held a telephone exchange with the Ambassador of Cuba in Grenada, during which he confirmed his political organization’s support for the Cuban cause. During the conversation, David emphasized that solidarity with the Island is a historic commitment of the Grenadian people and that his party will continue to defend bilateral cooperation in every possible space.
In his remarks, the former Foreign Minister also highlighted that Cuba has been a key partner for Grenada in areas such as health, education, and professional training, and that this cooperation deserves to be recognized and protected against external pressures.
For her part, the Cuban Ambassador expressed gratitude for the constant demonstrations of support received from Grenada, both from various political organizations and social sectors, including the political formation led by David. The Cuban representative stressed that Grenadian solidarity strengthens Cuba’s resistance against the blockade and constitutes an example of friendship that transcends political circumstances, reaffirming the unity between both peoples.
Peter David is a well‑known figure in Grenadian politics. He is the current leader of the Democratic People’s Movement (DPM). His career has been marked by the defense of Caribbean integration and by his closeness to Cuba, a country he has repeatedly described as a strategic ally for regional development.
