Georgetown, August 19. The new Minister of Public Health of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony received in a courtesy call the Ambassador of Cuba, Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro.
The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere. The Minister thanked Cuba for the cooperation that Cuba has historically provided to Guyana in various fields, especially in the training of qualified personnel and direct medical assistance to the Guyanese people through its uninterrupted presence during more than four decades of the Cuban medical brigades. The Minister expressed the interest of the new government of Guyana to strengthen and expand the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Cuban Ambassador congratulated the Minister for his appointment and expressed the political will and the coinciding interest of the Cuban Government to work together with its Guyanese counterpart in favor of expanding and deepening the bilateral ties, especially in the Public Health sector.
