Guyana demands to put an end the blockade of the United States against Cuba

Guyana, June 19, 2021. This morning, the health collaborators met at the headquarters of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Leonora, as well as members of the solidarity movement, among them a group of students from the “Richard Ishmael” Basic Secondary, Cuban residents, and Embassy officials to demand the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than sixty years.

The event was presided by the Ambassador, Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro, the President of the Guyana-Cuba Solidarity Movement, Mr. Halim Kahn, and the Chief of the Medical Brigade, Dr. Ineldo Ruiz Arcia.

Addressing those present on behalf of his companions, the young Guyanese student, Jamol Haynes, said: "... the struggle has been going on for many years, the world condemns the inhuman and cruel blockade that Cuba is suffering and has said enough."

The Ambassador thanked the permanent and steady solidarity of the Guyanese people and affirmed that on June 23, at the United Nations, the international community will once again demand to put an end to the criminal blockade of the United States against Cuba.
