Hanoi dances to the rhythm of Compay Segundo

To the rhythm of classics of the Cuban pentagram such as Guantanamera, Negra Tomasa, and Chan Chan, hundreds of people enjoyed the Compay Segundo group´s first concert  in the Vietnamese capital.

The Salsa Night Fever show brought the exclusivity of a symbol of traditional Cuban music to the multinational public who attended the Hanoi Youth Theater, including Vietnam fans, foreign tourists, Vietnamese graduated in Cuba, cooperators from the Caribbean country, and Cubans residents in this city.

Compay Segundo will give a second occasion to the lovers of its music in Vietnam, when the Army Theater of Ho Chi Minh City welcomes them on November 30 in a second concert in the Indochinese country, as part of an Asian commercial tour that also includes New Caledonia.

Speaking to the Voice of Vietnam and  Latin Press Agency, the members of the orchestra thanked the reception by the Vietnamese people, and trusted the possibility of organizing future presentations in this Asian country, where there are so many admirers of Cuban music.

Compay Segundo group takes that name as a tribute to its founder Máximo Francisco Repilado Muñoz (Compay), performer, guitarist and composer with extensive international experience, creator of the instrument known as Armónico, a fusion between the Spanish guitar and the Cuban tres .
